Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted by JNT University on behalf of APSCHE. This examination is the gateway for entry into various professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Andhra Pradesh

A Common Entrance Test, designated as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET ) of Andhra Pradesh will be conducted (as per G.O.Ms.No. 16 Edn.,(EC) Department Dt:25/2/2004 and its amendments) by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad for entry into the first year of the following professional courses offered in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

a) B.E/B.Tech courses
b) B.V.Sc and A.H/B.Sc(Ag)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech
(FS&T)/B.Sc (CA&BM) courses
c) MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS courses
d) B. Pharm/B.Tech (Bio-technology) and Pharm-D (Doctor of
Pharmacy) courses

EAMCET 2010-2011- Andhra Pradesh- Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test

About the Entrance Test:
A Common Entrance Test, designated as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test – 2010 (EAMCET – 2010) of Andhra Pradesh will be conducted (as per G.O.Ms.No. 16 Edn.,(EC) Department Dt:25/2/2004 and its amendments) by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad for entry into the first year of the following professional courses offered for the academic year 2010-2011 in the State of Andhra Pradesh.


COURSES:

a) B.E/B.Tech courses.
b) B.V.Sc and A.H/B.Sc(Ag)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech(FS&T)/B.Sc (CA&BM) courses.
c) MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS courses.
d) B. Pharm/B.Tech (Bio-technology) and Pharm-D (Doctor of
Pharmacy) courses.



ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (EAMCET - 2010):

  • The minimum qualification to appear for EAMCET-2010 is:
    • A pass in Intermediate Examination or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the A.P. Board of Intermediate Education, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.
    • A pass at Diploma examination or appearance at final year Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P. or its equivalent thereto. Diploma candidates are eligible to apply for B.E/B.Tech/B.pharm courses only. Diploma in pharmacy are eligible to apply for Pharm-D course.
  • In case of such students who appear for the entrance Test, pending result of their qualifying examination, their entry shall be subject to their securing a pass in the said qualifying examination.
  • Candidates should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh as defined in the A.P. Educational Institutions (regulations for admission) order 1974 and its amendments (vide G.O.P.No. 646 dt: 10-7-79 of Education (W) Department).
  • Detailed information regarding eligibility, age, and syllabus etc., is given in the “Instruction Booklet”, supplied along with the application form.

HOW TO APPLY for EAMCET 2010?

Requisition for the Application form:

  1. Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “E” category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech (Dairying)/ B.Tech (FS&T) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm (MPC),Pharm-D((MPC) courses.
  2. Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS) and B.Pharm/ B.Tech (Bio-Technology)/Pharm-D (Bi.P.C) courses.
  3. Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses above have to submit “E” and “AM” category applications.

Application form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- in cash (this amount covers the cost of application, fee for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh till 15.4.2010

As per G.O.Ms.No 165 dated 06-09-2007and G.O.Ms.No 8 (Amendment to the GO.Ms. No 16) Higher Education Department, dated 27-01-2009, the candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination. However as per G.O Ms No. 181 dated 21.05.2008 of Health Medical and Family Welfare(E1) Department for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of Competitive entrance examination, a candidate for admission to those courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination.. In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC must have obtained not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination


How to submit the application form:

EAMCET 2010 application may be submitted online or offline. For details refer to item VIII of “Instruction Booklet” for Engineering (E) and Agriculture and Medicine (AM) Categories of applications.

Date of Entrance Test: 30-05-2010

Test Timings:

  • For Engineering Stream (E): 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM
  • For Medicine Stream (AM): 02.30 PM to 5.30 PM

  • Last date for sale of applications: 15-04-2010

***Last date for the receipt of filled in application forms without late fee: 03-04-2010

Last date for the receipt of filled in application forms at Convener’s Office only with late fee of Rs. 500/-: 09-04-2010

Last date for the receipt of filled in application forms at Convener’s Office only with late fee of Rs. 1000/-: 15-04-2010

**Last date for the receipt of filled in application forms at Convener’s Office only with late fee of Rs5000/-: 10-05-2010 (at Convener’s office, Hyd in person only, no online submission)

**Last date for the receipt of filled in application forms at Convener’s Office only with late fee of Rs. 10000/- : 27-05-2010(at Convener’s office, Hyd in person only, no online submission)

** For candidates submitted with late fee of 10000/-, test centre will be allotted at Hyderabad/ Secunderabad only

NOTE: For online submission a candidate has to purchase a DD for Rs. 250/- in favor of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, payable at Hyderabad and enter the website http://www.apeamcet.org and submit the application. After submission a registration number for future reference is generated. The candidate has to download and take printout of filled in application and paste a colour photograph of size 3.5cmx4.5 cm at appropriate place in the application. After signing the application at the bottom of the photograph (not on the photograph) and also on the declaration arrange it along with required documents and DD in A4 size cover and send it to the convener, EAMCET-2010 by Regd.   • The late fee and online submission application fee must be in the form of Demand Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Hyderabad, in favor of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.
  • Filled in Application should be submitted to the Regional Coordinator in person as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet or to the Convener, EAMCET – 2010, SIT Building, Cellar portion, JNT University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad – 500 085 by Regd. Post.
  • In their own interest, candidates are advised to submit the application online or submit the filled in applications to the concerned regional co-ordinators in person only, or send it to the convener, EAMCET – 2010 by regd post well in advance, of the last date prescribed for submission of applications without late fee to avoid delays. Convener shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit.

EAMCET 2011 Engineering

Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is an entrance examination which leads candidates to study under the top institutes of Andhra Pradesh in various technical, medical, veterinary and pharmacy courses. EAMCET is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Students appearing in this exam need to fill an application form in order to enroll their names for specified fields.

For all the B.Tech/B.E. courses (except B.Tech (Biotechnology)), B.Pharma(MPC) & B.Sc (Commercial Agriculture & Business Management (CA&BM), there is a common entrance exam consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

For admission in a number of professional courses like engineering, medical, pharmacy, biotechnology, veterinary etc in private/government colleges in Andhra Pradesh students have to appear for Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test. There are plenty of medical, agriculture and engineering colleges available in Andhra Pradesh. Candidates need to qualify this entrance exam in order to get admission in these colleges. These colleges have well equipped campuses which hold up to date library, labs and well furnished class rooms for students. The institutes also provide internet connections throughout the campus. The institute provides transportation facility to its students and also gives residential facility to them. These institutes also offer qualified and excellent faculty members who provide all sorts of study materials to its students in order to give best knowledge to them.

Popularity of the exam:

A large number of students from across the state of Andhra Pradesh appear for EAMCET every year and the competition is quite tough. As the seats are fixed for each course, students have to work hard to get their desired course. The students have to secure high marks in the EAMCET and have to sit for a counseling program.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate should have cleared class 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For engineering & Pharmacy courses candidates should be at least 16 years of age. For other courses candidates should be between 17-25 years of age on 31st December, 2011. EAMCET is only open for the candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh.

Application Forms for EAMCET:

Candidates can apply for EAMCET either online/offline. Offline forms will be available at designated centers as mentioned in notification. Candidates can also apply online through the website www.apeamcet.org.

Important Dates (Tentative):

• Availability of Application Form: 4th week of February, 2011

• Last Date of Submission of completed application form: first week of April, 2011

• Date of EAMCET Examination: end of the month of May, 2011

Pattern of Examination:

The entrance test will consist of Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. There will be 4 options to each question. The syllabus for the exam can be downloaded from its website.

Sensex, Nifty remain in red;Ambuja Cements gains 4% SIFY

​Due to sustained selling in several front line stocks, the market continues to languish in the red despite coming off the day's lows. Buying is extremely stock specific this morning with a select few from realty, capital goods, oil and automobile sectors finding good support.

The Sensex is down 129 points or 0.66% at 19,405.10. The Nifty is down with a loss of 38.40 points or 0.65% at 5824.55.

Among IT majors, Infosys Technologies and HCL Technologies are trading weak, while Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services are up in positive territory after a weak start.

IT bellwether Infosys Technologies is down 3.8% at Rs 3246.35 following a lower than expected surge in earnings in the October - December 2010 quarter and a somewhat weak forecast for the March 2011 quarter.

ICICI Bank, Jindal Steel, HDFC Bank, Hero Honda and State Bank of India are trading lower by 1% - 1.7%. Tata Steel, BHEL, HDFC, NTPC and ITC are trading lower. Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki are down marginally.

Pantaloon Retail is down by over 4% at Rs 336. Indiabulls Financial Services, Shree Renuka Sugars, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Biocon, BPCL, Canara Bank, Thermax and Titan Industries are also down with notable losses.

Ambuja Cement has gained over 4% on strong buying at the counter. Reliance Communications has notched up a gain of 2.35% at Rs 141.85. Jaiprakash Associates, ACC, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Consultancy Services, Sterlite Industries, DLF, Cairn India, Sesa Goa, Siemens, ONGC and Larsen & Toubro are also up with notable gains.
